Currington Family

In the past four years, with your support, we have been able to:

  • make great strides in moving our city forward and positioning Gardendale for sustainable economic growth in the future. The recently announced City Center project will ultimately become home for the new City Hall, but the first new business to break ground will be Buffalo Wild Wings. Income generated by parcels sold to new businesses desiring to locate in this new development, along with their new sales tax revenue, will be used to offset the cost of the new City Hall facility.
  • prosper during the most challenging times in recent history for our national, state and local economies. We reduced the City’s annual debt obligations by $800,000 ($1,100,000 in 2008 to $384,000 in 2012), reduced general operating expenses over $1,000,000 and brought in new businesses that will create more than $300,000 in new sales tax revenue annually.
  • make improvements to our Park and Recreation facilities, add needed equipment to our Public Works, Police and Fire Departments, expand our Library and provide financial support to each classroom in our Gardendale area school system, all of which enhances the quality of life afforded to the citizens of Gardendale

I have spent my professional career managing problems, defining solutions to those problems and working hand-in-hand with people to implement those solutions. I am a “people person”. I believe my professional background and experience gained during these past four years as your councilman, along with strong moral values and a healthy dose of common sense, will equate to a councilman that you can continue to trust and depend upon.

I feel we must continue to elect leaders who are committed to advancing Gardendale with fresh ideas, bold initiatives, fiscal responsibility and a strong work ethic. Those chosen to serve should demonstrate an ability to lead by example and not just words alone. The Mayor and Council should function as a unified team of leaders with well defined goals and objectives striving to work together for you the citizens and the overall betterment of the City of Gardendale.

With your vote on Tuesday, August 28th, I will continue to work hard as a part of that team to further mold Gardendale into the type of community desired by its residents. I will always have an “open door” policy, so I will be accessible and try to be as responsive and helpful as possible to the citizens of this District and Gardendale.

It is because of these beliefs and qualities that I remain confident in my abilities to serve as your representative. I ask not only for your support during this campaign, but for your vote of trust and confidence on Tuesday, August 28th to serve as your Councilman and help continue guiding Gardendale into a promising, prosperous future.
